About the ride

100 years of Route 66, ridden the way it deserves

Route 66 turns 100 this year, and Active Arizona is marking it the way we know best — on two wheels. Cycle AZ 66 traces the Mother Road out of Kingman to Valentine and back, fully supported with aid stations, on-course mechanics, and SAG the whole way.

This isn't a race. It's a ride for the century-old road and everyone who's ever wanted to see it slow. Whether you're chasing a fast time or just chasing the scenery, there's a pace group for you.

Produced by Active Arizona — the statewide coalition that's championed Arizona cyclists since 2002 — and held alongside the I Heart Route 66 Festival in Kingman.

Why now

100 years ago, this road connected eight states and became the one America fell in love with.

This is the one year to ride it as the anniversary it deserves.
